Wolverine Brand ® Stainless Steel Inflow Protector Manhole Inserts are manufactured of 16 gauge 304 stainless steel.
Gasket
The gasket is manufactured from a closed cell neoprene material and is attached by a pressure sensitive adhesive, to the weight-bearing surface of the dish.
A gasket manufactured from a cross-linked polyethylene material is also available.
Removal
TheWolverine Brand ® Stainless Steel Inflow Protector Manhole Inserts have a corrosion resistant polypropylene strap installed for easy removal and re-installation into the manhole frame.
One corrosion resistant Stainless Steel U-Bolt or one Plastic Coated Stainless Steel handle pop riveted to the insert with a #6 high grade Stainless Steel rivet are also available.
Venting
The ventilation system utilizes one valve manufactured of a Polypropylene Ethylene compound. The valve material is unaffected by temperature within a range of -70°F to 350°F. The valve body and components are corrosion and wear resistant, designed to release gas pressure at a minimum of 1 psi, and have a water leak-down rate no greater than 5 gallons per 24 hours.
INSTALLATION:
No special tools are required.
NOTE: For proper operation it is imperative that the manhole rim be cleaned of all dirt and debris before placing theWolverine Brand® Stainless Steel Inflow Protector Manhole Insert upon the rim. Ensure the insert is fully seated around the manhole frame rim and reinstall the manhole cover as it was before.
